Brian Kay is a registered landscape architect. His experience includes golf course construction and architecture and residential landscape architecture, and he has worked as a landscape architect, land planner and consultant before joining his father at George Kay and Associates. Brian received a bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture from Mississippi State University.
George Kay is an award-winning landscape designer who now, with his son, Brian, runs George Kay and Associates, a landscape design and construction firm with two offices and a nursery. He is author of Landscape Plans, a guidebook to residential landscaping. He is co-author, with Kaneji Domoto, of Bonsai and the Japanese Garden. The American Association of Nurserymen has recognized his work—including the Union Oil Facility in Chicago and the Lions International Headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois—with awards of merit. He received his degree in landscape and nursery management from Michigan State University.
Jennifer Derryberry Mann is a freelance writer and editor based in Minneapolis. She has edited magazines for the floriculture and agriculture industries, and she helps horticulture businesses develop content for their web sites and marketing materials. She received a bachelor of science in journalism from the University of Kansas and certification in interactive media and online communications from the University of Chicago’s Graham School of General Studies.
