Creating beautiful container gardens is an increasingly popular and easy way to garden. Not content to use only traditional bedding plants, Sue incorporates new vegetative annuals, perennials, tropical plants, and even some evergreens. She discusses design principles such as color, texture, height, depth, and plant needs for light and nutrients. She also suggests ideas for holidays and festive occasions, as well as pots for early spring and fall decorating. Each container design features a plant list, planting diagram, and color photo.

About the Author

Sue Amatangelo is a Master Gardener and winner of the Illinois Outstanding Master Gardener Award. She has been an active part of the horticulture industry for many years. She has worked demonstrating how to create and care for container gardens and stretches traditional container garden thinking to offer unique new container ideas for garden centers in addition to the time-honored, foolproof recipes. She is also the Horticulture Superintendent of the Kane County, Illinois, Fair; Plan Commissioner for St. Charles; and is a board member for Garden Centers of America. Sue and her family live in St. Charles, Illinois.

This book opened my eyes to new creative ideas for my patio containers. It's absolutely fantastic with great photos and the plant-a-grams make it a breeze.
